Handheld HP iPAQ rx3715 Mobile Media Companion

HP iPAQ rx3715 resembles HP iPAQ rz1710 but it is only in external looks, it has an amazing new story inside – real value for your money. Unlike the other model in comparison it comes with fully packed with all accessories including basic case, Li-Ion battery , earplug type stereo headphones, USB cradle, Stylus, AC adapter for direct charging, bonus software applications in two CDs, user guide.

Handheld HP iPAQ rx3715 Moble Media Companion is supported by Microsoft’s Mobile software. This is a complete pocket PC. You want to enjoy music it is there; you want to capture and treasure special moments you can; you like to have your live memories you have video capabilities. If you are a light hearted person who enjoys gaming take on to your iPAQ.

It has interesting and attractive shape for its cradle with great stability. You don’t have to buy your power source as Handheld HP iPAQ rx3715 Moble Media Companion comes with the pack. The leather case too looks elegant with extra soft padding that protects the device. The device carefully avoids rubber parts that wear off with use. Compact stylus with better hold is made of tough plastic.

We have to admit the headphones that come with the device are not really the best that you can find in the market.

It has a large display looks classy with the dark color of the body. The buttons are user-definable and is made of plastic to save them from wearing. The unit also has a joypad. Each button can be customized for two actions each short press and a long press.

It has a total memory of 56.66MB and final usable space of 42 MB after the space consumed by device applications. It also has an additional storage space of 96 MB for file storage.

Though large, the display does not impress us greatly. The display is transflexive TFT with 65 thousand colors. It spoils its image with the pink shade on the left and green shade on the right. Except for black all the other colors suffer. Analysis says that it is the backlight that affects the display too badly. What is consoling is the backlight can be adjusted to 10 different levels to suit the battery levels. The display is not any good in bright sunlight like any other TFT display.

It has great audio capabilities and hence can be legitimately called – Mobile Media Companion. It has three level treble-bass adjustor to enjoy your audio. You only got to get a better earphones to enjoy the audio. Try connecting to your iPAQ to your hi-fi if you have one, you will be amused with the results. But don’t try the built in speaker you will curse yourself for the investment you made on this iPAQ. It has a sensitive microphone though.

It uses Widcomm’s Bluetooth feature and a fast wirless module of 802.11lb wi-fi version. If you are some one who stays out for long hours you can go for optional double capacity battery even otherwise you can easily take count on its eight hours battery time while using backlight.

It is user friendly!

Nokia 770 Internt Tablet

How many times you wished that your pocket PC some how had a bigger display to have a comfortable browsing experience? Nokia has read your mind; Nokia has come out with something innovative – Internt Tablet. You can feel the freedom of 4.1 inch display. It comes at a good bargain of $359.99. However, the problem is the speed and some more features such as VOIP capabilities and IM features. Another major problem is that you need a hotspot or Bluetooth enabled device to gain access to the internet.

Nokia 770 Internet Tablet device measures 5.5×3.1×0.7. It has a protective sliding metal cover – which is thoughtful addition to the device. The cover slides smoothly on to the back of the device. Sadly you cannot slip the Internet Tablet into you pants pocket it is little too big for that and your sports coat will sag in weight.

When you slide the cover the device automatically goes to standby mode and when you slide it back it is back on to active mode. Design wise the Internet tablet could have done better – the design is not user friendly, for example the protective cover when slid at the back blocks your access to stylus. The styls too can be annoying, as it will find its place on the silo only one way.

The specialty of Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is its display. The TFT LCD is touch sensitive. The display is simply amazing with its sharp images – it is a cool experience browsing in the Internet tablet. It has a resolution of 800×800 pixels.

You can access the web and control your browsing through the buttons on the left of the screen. It has an easy to use 4 way navigation button that allows you to move between links easily. It also has few quick move buttons for operations such as Back, Home and Menu this renders stylus free operation.

Text input is through onscreen keyboard. There is also the possibility of handwriting recognition pad; it is supported by software. However it is not an easy to task to master the handwriting recognition pad and it is not something the device can boast about.

The user interface is well thought out and it is pretty easy to use the device even for the first time user. If you should get stuck up, there is a comprehensive manual to help you out.

The Internet Tablet is not an stand alone device it is dead without a connectivity device – Wi-Fi hotspots, data-enabled cell phone or some Bluetooth device. The curse however is that you cannot use your CDMA or GPRS capable connectivity.

The browser used is Opera 8 Mobile browser that supports Flash, Javascript and plug-ins. It has an email client with POP3 and IMAP4 accounts. You can schedule automatic send and receive for mails in power on or in standby modes. You get an LED alert when new message comes.

The device has just 128 MB for its memory and does not include any personal organizer features.

Battery time is pretty decent it has 3 hours browsing time and a standby time of seven days.
